WHAT IS 0.3 COMPLIANCE
What is 0.3 compliance? A deeper tan... without the burn!
Legislation by the European Union has been introduced in order to make tanning safer. The legislation states that Ultraviolet radiation in a commercial Sunbed, cannot exceed 0.3w/m2. A Sunbed above this level is now deemed 'unsafe' and 'unfit' for use. This is because higher Ultraviolet radiation equates with the higher chance of harmful skin burns. In layman's terms, the 0.3 legislation minimises the risk of burning or worse. It creates a benchmark for the industry to adhere to.
What Are The Benefits Of 0.3?
There are many benefits to the new legislation. A 0.3 tanning session delivers the same tanning effect as Mediterranean midday sun, ensuring that the tan is safer, gentler and lasts longer.
• Your tan will be deeper and longer lasting
• The tanning process is kinder to your skin • The risk of over exposure or burning is dramatically reduced. People must now realise that going red is not an indication that a Sunbed is working. The radiation heat from the sun's rays of a non-compliant Sunbed unit, literally kill skin cells causing the blood to rise to the skins surface. This is the reddening. The pain or discomfort is the burning, no different from standing in front of an open oven and receiving burns. All commercial sunbeds will be 0.3 compliant in the very near future, benefiting both the customer and the vendor. Lower running costs, better results and the bringing about of better sunbed technology.
